Spring is in the Air!
JUNEFEST:
Junefest was a blast! Many thanks to to dozens of volunteers who came
out to help, and the hundreds of families in the Williamson Road
community who came to play at this year's Junefest. This is the School
Council's biggest fundraiser, and the biggest contributor to enriching
the programs at the school.
Many of you will have noticed that we did not have a number of the
rental inflatables and other games that we usually had. This was not
part of a recesssionary downsizing - rather it was a simple no-show by
the amusement company. What at first seemed to be a disaster quickly
became an exercise by members of the Willy community stepping up and
innovating by finding alternative game equipment and creating new
games. We thank everyone who worked harder in making sure this Junefest
was as fun as possible in the circumstances. The creativity shown by
many has given us new ideas for Junefests in the future. Thanks for
your co-operation, support, and understanding.
